Looking for a City to Set Up Shop
      About Me
I'm Mike, the owner of an athletic development company called HPC. I recently quit my financially secure day job to 1) finish my PhD and 2) take my business full time. It's a risky venture and a major redirection (hence the blog name) in my life. I love food, hate sleep, and want to be my own boss. I have mild OCD and ADD but I will always post, so please come back if you are interested in following this venture and maybe picking up some random bits along the way.

    City of Jacksonville

If you’re a regular reader of my blog you know that I’ll be setting up my business somewhere in the next month or two. In my last blog entry I mentioned that Raleigh, NC may very well be the current front runner. I’ve done a lot of research on where to do it to have the best chance of success and also live somewhere I want to live. I’ve had quite a few emails asking about what cities are on my shortlist. Here they are in no particular order:

    1. Raleigh, NC
    2. Charlotte, NC
    3. Atlanta, GA
    4. Austin, TX
    5. Jacksonville, FL
    6. Tampa, FL
    7. Irvine, CA (probably ruled out now)

I have some very specific criteria I am looking for when I chose these cities? Can you guess what they are?

Charlotte and Raleigh are great areas that have grown over the last few years, they are surrounded by sports venues, and are nice places to raise a family. I live in Greensboro, NC and operate a performance ehancement business there. I visit those two cities whenever possible and I know you would not go wrong with either.
