      About Me
I'm Mike, the owner of an athletic development company called HPC. I recently quit my financially secure day job to 1) finish my PhD and 2) take my business full time. It's a risky venture and a major redirection (hence the blog name) in my life. I love food, hate sleep, and want to be my own boss. I have mild OCD and ADD but I will always post, so please come back if you are interested in following this venture and maybe picking up some random bits along the way.

Well, my host was down again this morning….for about 2-3 hours. This was the last straw. I went and purchased a 2 year deal with a new host. I had done a lot of research on hosts for the past couple weeks and I knew I needed to make the move. I need to have my sites hosted with a company that I know is reliable and provides a high ‘up’ time. I ended up choosing hostgator. They get a lot of good reviews from a variety of sites and they’re one of the bigger names in hosting while still providing service at a reasonable price. We’ll see how it goes. I’ll probably try and make the transfer of all my domains tonight.

I want to add that there’s a decent chance that I have lost NO business in the downtime over the past couple days….it’s not like I’m some mega company or something. Having said that, it’s no less important that I can count on my business and personal sites to be up BECAUSE unlike the Fortune 500 companies of the world- I can’t afford to lose any business.
